Last month’s Kaneohe Business Group’s luncheon was on Wednesday, August 22nd at 11:30am in the Club Room at Pohai Nani. Our speaker was Council Member, Ikaika Anderson. The KBG group was proud to to, also, honor Cpl. Morgen White and LCpl. Todd Bramblett for their service. Many topics were discussed and questions answered regarding our windward community. The Anderson Family has called Windward Oahu home for five generations. Ikaika graduated from The Kamehameha Schools and then from University of Hawaii with degrees in journalism and political science.  He joined the staff of the late Councilmember Barbara Marshall in 2003, and served as her senior legislative aide. After Barbara lost her fight with cancer in February 2009, Ikaika ran for, and won, her vacant seat in a special election in April 2009. He currently serves as Chair of the Council’s Committee on Planning and Vice Chair on the Committee on Parks, Community & Customer Services. He also serves as Executive Committee Treasurer for the Hawaii State Association of Counties and a Hawaii representative of the National Association of Counties. Ikaika is involved in various activities of windward neighborhood boards and other community associations.  Ikaika lives in Waimanalo with his wife, Lisa, and four children, daughter Tianni, son J.W. and ten-year old twins, daughter Kaili and son Kaleb.
