Many thanks today to Lisa Groulx, the Executive Director of PARENTS, Inc.  The organization has a 47 year history of helping families with a proud current 98% satisfaction rate for the 4000+ people per year! Lisa discussed the details of the services provided and their overall mission statement to help families better communicate and coexist in our complicated world. The professional staff use tried and true methods to help parents and children who struggle with abuse and neglect. Lisa, also, discussed the multi-generational factors and the ways in which to combat the systemic detrimental family cycles.

Lisa Groulx works as the Executive Director of PARENTS, Inc. and has over 30 years of experience in business management. She has been a Weinberg Fellow since 2011 and is involved in many child abuse and neglect prevention coalitions, including Hawai’i Children’s Trust Fund and the Child Abuse Prevention Planning Council through Prevent Child Abuse Hawai’i. Lisa has a passion for providing life skills and resources to anyone interested in strengthening their skillset. Furthermore, she has developed many training skills to facilitate classes, workshops and will always be a life-long learner.

Ms. Groulx obtained her certification as a seminar/facilitator trainer with the Nurturing Parenting Program in 2017, as well as a Master Trainer Certification in 2014 for the Fatherhood Development Curriculum through the National Partnership for Community Leadership. She then became a Certified Scream Free Parenting Leader through the Scream Free Institute. Lisa is also a Youth Thrive Trainer for the Center for the Study of Social Policy.

Prior to joining PARENTS, Inc., Ms. Groulx assisted in creating a new board of directors at Punana Leo ‘O Samuel M. Kamakau Preschool, where she served for 2 years. Lisa is a long-time Girl Scout Troop Leader and continues to dedicate her life to her two daughters. She believes that prevention and education is truly the key to eradicating child abuse and neglect in our society. Her goals are to create healthy, loving and thriving parents that shape the lives of our children.
