‘Ahuimanu Wastewater Pre-Treatment Facility Force Main — Haiku Road Bypass Sewer

Aloha, Beginning August 2017, Frank Coluccio Construction will begin work on the City and County of Honolulu’s ‘Ahuimanu Wastewater Pre-Treatment Facility Force Main — Haiku Road Bypass Sewer Project to upgrade the sewer lines in your area. The project is scheduled to be completed in December 2018. The project consists of rerouting the existing ‘Ahuimanu 16-inch force main located on Kahekili Highway to Kamehameha Highway along Haiku Road with a new 24-inch diameter gravity sewer line (approximately3,655 LF). The new sewer line will be installed by open trenching. Location of work to be performed is shown on the attached site map.

Phase 1 will consist of sewer manhole and pipe installation between Kamehameha Highway and Alaloa Street. The work will take place between August 2017 to March 2018.

Phase 2 will consist of sewer manhole and pipe installation between He’eia Street and Kahekili Highway. The work will take place between February 2018 to June 2018.

Phase 3 will consist of sewer manhole and pipe installation between Alaloa Street and He’eia Street. The work will take place between May 2018 to July 2018.

Phase 4 will consist of connection work on Kamehameha Highway and Kahekili Highway.

The work will take place between July 2018 to September 2018. Restoration will consist of asphalt paving, restoring traffic loops, and pavement markings. This work will take place between September 2018 to November 2018. Anticipated normal on-street working hours on this project are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work on Kahekili Highway will be performed from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.. Updated fliers will be distributed throughout the neighborhood to keep residents informed of the upcoming phases of work on the project.

Intermittent lane closures will take place on Haiku Road and the intersections of Kamehameha Highway and Kahekili Highway. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and drive with extreme caution within the construction area.

A Public Information Meeting for this project has been scheduled for Monday, August 14th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at He’eia Elementary Cafeteria. We will also be presenting at the Kâne’ohe Neighborhood Board meeting on August 17th, 2017.
