THE MISSION
The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center will provide education, information and support to create successful first-time homeowners in Hawai’i. By addressing barriers and increasing rates of home ownership, the HomeOwnership Center aims to build stronger families and communities throughout the state of Hawai’i.
In addition to our program for first-time buyers, we added Foreclosure Prevention & Rental Counseling to support struggling renters and owners to understand their options and stay in their homes. We also created non-profit affiliates, HHOC Mortgage and HHOC Housing and Land Trust with missions to provide affordable financing and creating & preserving affordable homes.

FREE FIRST-TIME BUYER WORKSHOPS AND OUR PROGRAM.
These are free sessions to provide some education to the public. We periodically offer two free sessions. We also occasionally offer other free workshops that would be of interest to first-time homebuyers and/or existing homeowners.
The first periodic workshop is our one-hour Introductory First-Time Homebuyers Workshop. We encourage all interested people to attend this session to get an overview about the purchase process and how the Center helps in that process.
-
At that time, you will learn about the benefits of homeownership and the commitment required from those who choose to participate in the Center’s programs. Following these workshops, staff members are available to answer any questions you may have.
-
If none of the scheduled Introductory First-Time Homebuyer Workshops work with your schedule, you can watch a recorded workshop at this link.
The second periodic workshop is a Buyer Assistance Programs Overview.
-
The Buyer Assistance Programs Overview provides general information about some of the programs available to assists first-time buyers achieve their goal of homeownership.
Lastly, our occasional free workshops will cover subjects that are useful to either first-time homebuyers or existing homebuyers.
